Our Mission
We are an inclusive community committed to nondiscrimination and diversity in all forms. We are devoted to transparency in our organization.
Our mission is to create a vibrant, diverse community and expand leadership capacity among all people trained in the Somatic ExperiencingTM method of healing trauma. We provide our Northern California community a regional, self-governing professional forum which promotes communications and development of the membership in service of the broader community.
SEPA Goals:
Community - Networking, Collaboration, Social Engagement and Diversity.
Capacity - Professional Development, Crisis Response, Research, & Cultural Competency
Communication - Public Education, Community Outreach, Advocacy and Liaison with SETI (Somatic Experiencing® Training Institute).
Background description:
Northern California has been a home to all levels of formal Somatic Experiencing® trainings since the mid 1990s. Over time, increasing numbers of participants, graduates, practitioners and faculty of these trainings have envisioned an ongoing organized community for professional development and service opportunities beyond the training venue. In 2013, the Northern CA SEPA was formed to fulfill this vision.Use this page to describe your mission and goals.
